Our sensorial writing class, Sense to Sense, is excited to share its final publication!

[Two photos, side by side. On the left, a black book with a spiky star shape on the cover, with small typography reading 'Sense to Sense' and 'Summer 2025' in an elegant serif font. On the right, someone holding open a spread with the table of contents. Curious and mysterious titles with page numbers fill the spread, and behind are refreshing and lush light green hydrangeas.]
Update: You can now purchase the publication that came out of our "Sense to Sense" class. Domestic shipping only. Purchase here, just twelve copies remaining. Thank you!

Join us to celebrate the publication that came out of our class. We'll meet this Friday, August 1st from 7-9pm for the launch, with some light refreshments and readings. RSVP here...

[Tiff, Jill, Hannah M, Ariana, Alicia, Hannah Z, Kara, Nat, Jess, Kim, Meg, and Laurel sit around a long rectangular table smiling for the camera. Above them, pink, purple, and yellow paper lanterns are strung up, adorning the space (Dean's List) where the workshop was held.]
In our class, we explored translation and the senses. For over the course of five weeks (for the five senses) in June and July, we read, discussed, and workshopped our own writings...

[Two photos side-by-side. On the left, participants sit around a table smelling tiny vials of perfume samples. On the right, groups cluster around the table to discuss the publication on the last day of class, with La Croix and pizza visible in the foreground.]

[A digital invitation to the publication launch on August 1, 2025 7-9pm at Park Avenue Plaza Lobby on 55 E 52nd St. Against a black background, two simple line drawings of a spiral and a star in “lemon chiffon” yellow sit at the center, with Sense to Sense Publication Launch written out below it, also in lemon chiffon.]
We explored questions like: How can a fragrance become a poem? What are the different ways to write an image, or to document a sound? Or to convey pressure, pain, or touch?
As Ursula K. Le Guin says, “all writing is translation” — from the perceptual into language.
See, hear, and ... you there 🌸🌸
